Training Mission
WarriorNOW’s Training Department’s mission is three-fold: build a Network of Warriors who are certified mentors and peer support specialists; educate veterans, families, and the community at large about mental health issues specific to the veteran community; and ensure our staff are trained to be culturally competent and trauma-informed. Training is an important part of the mission as it helps to educate on topics that will improve knowledge and skills, as well as eliminate the stigma of mental illness, because with education comes insight, understanding, and change.
Training Content
WarriorNOW’s goal is to provide current, relevant, and a professional level of training and guidance from individuals who are subject matter experts. Training will consist of instructor-led courses in a classroom, online, or in a hybrid format, as well as self-guided online courses. Training will be offered on a monthly basis with rotating topics so that people have the flexibility to attend when it is convenient.
