Join WarriorNOW on May 23rd at 5 pm as we virtually host Coreen Braden, the Arapahoe County Chapter Lead with Young People in Recovery, as she provides training on using Narcan.

Narcan (naloxone) is an opioid antagonist used to quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It has been proven to be a life-saving medication for people suffering from an opioid overdose, and its use can restore normal respiration in minutes. In most states, Narcan is easy to use and is available without a prescription. It is often administered as a nasal spray or an injection and can help restore vital functions to someone suffering from an opioid overdose. As a result, Narcan is widely used by first responders, hospitals, police officers, and even family members of those at risk of experiencing an opioid overdose. In addition to saving lives, Narcan may also reduce the number of opioid-related deaths and help reduce the number of people who will become dependent on opioids.

Furthermore, Narcan can be a valuable tool in reducing the stigma associated with opioid use, as it helps to show that proper medical treatment is available for those suffering from an overdose. Overall, Narcan is an essential medication in combating the opioid epidemic and saving lives. Therefore, ensuring that those at risk have access to this life-saving medication is crucial.
