For our Veterans there is nothing like connecting with and relying on a fellow Veteran. Our mentor program is connecting Veterans to a network of fellow Veterans who can provide support, advice, or simply a listening ear. Mentors may act as a coach, guide, role model, advocate, recovery support, mental health support, life support, or just simply an ally.
Being a mentor is simply about being there for a fellow Veteran. It is about making sure no Veteran feels alone, in a way that only a fellow Veteran can.
Mentoring is Peer Support, which is a key factor in helping people through crisis. Mentors are also key in assisting with developing necessary navigation and survival skills, adjusting to civilian life, and in improving quality of everyday lives.
Join our team of veteran mentors and make a real difference in the lives of other veterans impacted by the criminal justice system. As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to share your unique experiences and provide guidance to those who need it most. Not only will you be making a positive impact on your fellow veterans, but you’ll also be developing valuable leadership and mentoring skills. Sign up today and be a part of something bigger than yourself!
Something so small makes a big difference. Every time we show up to court with coffee and donuts, it encourages our veterans in the program and mentors to communicate and brings back one our core values from the military, camaraderie. To cap off our refreshments, we are providing mentorship to the participants in the Veterans Treatment Court program.
Our team is made up of peers. People who have experienced what you have experienced. We understand that this time is difficult and we want to help make it a simple transition for everyone.
Being a mentor is simply about being there for a fellow Veteran. It is about making sure no Veteran feels alone, in a way that only a fellow Veteran can.
Our mentors provide more than just a listening ear; they are advocates that offer support, advice and direction to fellow Veterans who find themselves in challenging situations. As coaches, guides or allies of their peers, these inspiring leaders act as role models whose compassion can reassure those facing struggles associated with transitioning back into civilian life. Through peer-support mentoring — an essential service for helping people cope during crises — mentors enable others to identify personal strengths and develop necessary skills needed for leading healthier lives outside the military structure. In short: no Veteran should ever have to feel alone – there’s always someone out there ready to lend knowledge from experience!
