Military and veteran spouses' challenges - unmet needs and extent of available support programs - February 26, 2021 Noon - 1pm MST

Presented by the Graduate School of Professional Psychology’s Military Psychology

Please join the Graduate School of Professional Psychology’s Military Psychology specialty for a webinar series, in collaboration with the Department of Veteran Affairs Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC). Our speakers will address topics related to suicide prevention, military cultural competency, safety assessment through tele-health, lethal means safety, evidence-based trauma treatments, military families and moral injury.

This talk will review the prevalence of concerns and challenges faced by military and veteran spouses or committed partners. It will describe existing and emerging programs to support spouses to address mental health, higher education, career, relationship and transition support needs. It will suggest program supports, policy changes and research that are needed to better support spouses’ wellbeing.
