What we do

Four pillars.
One goal: a steady job.

WarriorNOW helps Veterans find structure, camaraderie, and purpose through peer support, mentorship, reentry navigation, and community connection.

Pillar 01 · Trades & Certifications

Certified. Job-ready. Working.

Flagging and OSHA certifications, on-the-job training with our partners, and mentoring for veterans building their own trade business.

The skilled trades need workers, and veterans already bring the discipline, teamwork, and safety mindset job sites want. WarriorNOW was started alongside Exteriors Denver to open that door. Veterans earn their Flagging and OSHA certifications, then get hands-on, on-the-job training with partner employers and job sites, so they show up on day one ready to work. For veterans who want to start or grow their own trade business, WarriorNOW also offers entrepreneur mentoring.

Flagging

CDOT Flagging certification. Qualify to direct traffic on construction sites, a high-demand entry point into the trades.

PartnerCDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation)

OSHA

OSHA certification through the Colorado Building and Construction Trades Council. Job-site safety training employers look for.

For veterans who want to start or grow their own trade business: mentoring from WarriorNOW on starting and running it. Mentoring comes from various entrepreneurs from across Colorado.

  • Certification partners: CDOT (Flagging) and the Colorado Building and Construction Trades Council (OSHA)
  • CPR / First Aid training is also offered.

Pillar 02 · Peer Mentors

Trained, certified Peer Mentors.

The person a veteran trusts most is often another veteran.

We train and certify veterans as Peer Mentors. Our mentors serve in Veterans Treatment Courts, and they're also here for any veteran in the community who needs someone to talk to: another vet who's been there. Mentors help veterans build structure, set goals, and stay accountable, with steady work as the target.

In the courts

  • 18th Judicial District
  • 23rd Judicial District
  • Aurora Municipal Court
  • Lakewood Municipal Court

In the community

One-on-one peer support for any veteran who needs another veteran to talk with.

Learn more about Peer Mentors

What Peer Mentors do

  • Check in regularly with the veterans they mentor
  • Help set employment and life goals and stay accountable to them
  • Connect veterans to certifications, transition education, and employers
  • Support veterans through court requirements, reentry, and life milestones
  • Model resiliency and steady, pro-social habits

Mentors are peers, not case managers. When a veteran needs professional help, mentors connect them to it.

Become a Peer Mentor

Mentor training is 8 hours plus quarterly in-service, at no cost to participants.

Pillar 03 · Transition Education

Leaving active duty, prison, or jail?

A steady job is what keeps you on track. We'll help you get there.

WarriorNOW provides transition education for veterans leaving active duty, prison, or jail. Each veteran is paired with a trained peer mentor who has walked a similar road. Together they build a plan for housing, transportation, ID, and above all a job.
